Yesterday, my girlfriend's father took me out to see the new Godzilla movie, which I was pretty excited for, since I've been waiting for this movie since my close friend informed me it was announced at ComiCon 2012. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie, even despite seeing all the trailers, I still wasn't sure what the movie had in store for me, although I heard online there was going to be a rival monster. The movie itself started off slow, with the focus more on setting up the back stories for the human characters. Actually overall, the movie is about the humans, and how they deal with three giant monsters destroying cities and what not. The movie does a good job of making you care about the characters, however, the main character played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-ass) was strangely enough, the most two-dimensional character. Maybe it's because he was a military man, and he was just in mission mode or what have you, but his character came across a little unbelievable to me. The movie also does a fantastic job of making you care about Godzilla, when the monsters through down in the final fight scene, Godzilla get's his butt handed to him for a while, and I was concerned for his well-being. The final fight scene between all the monsters was the coolest scene I've seen in a movie for a long time. It was incredibly awesome, but a little unsatisfying, simply due to the fact I wanted more of it, the movie teased Godzilla so much, it almost sets itself up for failure, it's hard to get a decent payoff when you teased as much as it did. So was the movie good? I personally loved Godzilla, I want to go see it again right now. It truly was one of the movies that makes you leave the theater wanting more. I recommend Godzilla to everyone, just don't go into the theater expecting Pacific Rim, because that's not what this movie was.
This blog is just a place for me to come and talk about nerdy stuff such as movies, video games, comic books, internet stuff, etc. Read for the review, my opinon, or what have you, anyway, enjoy!

E3 2014
So, a week or so ago was the first E3 since the next gen consoles have come out, and not a moment to soon, as players were growing weary of the lack of 3rd party support from last years console launch. last years E3 2013 was all about hardware, with Nintendo's Wii U being released just prior to E3 2013, and Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox one being announced at the press conferences, it shaped up to be one of the most exciting E3's in a long time. However, there was little talk of games, which makes sense considering the video game industry history of slow console launches. So, since the consoles have been out for a while now, does the future look brighter? E3 2014 showed us that yes, in fact, it certainty does. E3 2014 was about games, games, games. All kind's of exciting games were announced, it's hard to talk about all of them, but some of my favorites, and the games that i'm going to be looking forward to the most were Mortal Kombat X, Batman Arkham knight, Kingdom Hearts 3, Rise of Tomb Raider, and last but *certainty* not least, Uncharted 4. However, most of the games that were announced at this years E3 were set to release sometime in 2015, but 2014 is only half over, so what should gamers expect for the rest of 2014? Not much.
